- Government Ministerial inquiry into the Auckland power failure crisis in 1998.
- The Serene fan heater recall in 2024. First flagged in 2017, this took Genco seven years to galvanise the New Zealand Safety Regulator to finally take the necessary action, that also resulted in a Ministerial inquiry.
